Please "do your best" to be flexible and to "be prepared" to "HAVE FUN"!
CHECK – IN: 6:30 – 8:30A.M. SATURDAY
Please plan to arrive at Camp Grayson as a pack (CARPOOL). The earlier you arrive the better, as you will have more time to set up you campsite before the Flag Ceremony at 9:15 A.M.
One person from each pack (Pack Campout Leader) check in your group at the Fry Center check-in station. Registration forms, medical forms and fees must be complete! If your pack turned in all this paperwork early, BRAVO!!!!
No personal vehicles beyond the Camp Grayson parking lot – pedestrian traffic only!! If you choose as a pack to bring a trailer. Each trailer only one trip and the trailer stays at campsite.
LEAVING CAMP
If your family needs to leave camp, check out at the First Aid Station and with your Campout Leader. Check in when you return.
MEALS – SIMPLE AND FUN
For Saturday lunch, we suggest sack lunches you can eat at campsite.
For Saturday dinner, we suggest you cook as a pack. Foil packs or hot dogs , which may be prepared easily/quickly.
For cooking in your campsite, remember you will only have one campfire per pack. If a burn ban is in effect only charcoal may be used. It is best not to be outside your campsite after dark.
For Sunday breakfast, we suggest a NO COOK breakfast. (Bagels, muffins, sweet buns, donuts etc.)
Water is available for clean up in all campsites. It is recommended to bring your own drinking water.
Poison ivy exists at Camp Grayson! (Here is a wonderful opportunity to practice/learn Scout fire safety procedures!!!!!!!)
CHECK – OUT SUNDAY, BY 10:00 A.M.
When everyone helps, cleanup and check - out it is fun and easy.
Each campsite (and Camp Grayson) should be left cleaner than when you arrived. This is a BSA outdoor code credo!
Campfires ------- must be COLD!!! (Before leaving.)
Each pack should send an adult to the Fry center to request check – out inspection of their campsite.
Please leave the fire shovel and bucket in the campsite. Campsite will be inspected before checkout. This is a requirement.
All trash from campsite and latrine should be in trash bags. Please deposit filled trash bags in the dumpster that is next to the Dining Hall or pack it out yourself.
Gather all your personal gear and place it at the road entrance to your campsite or on your pack trailer.
Once a Camp Ranger has inspected your campsite, you are ready to depart . Enjoy a hike to the parking area and to bid a fond farewell to Camp Grayson!
With everyone’s help and cooperation, this will be a terrific Texoma Valley District Cub Scout Family Campout adventure!
